Welcome to Shackle's Ships, our boat charter company. We offer a variety of boats for rent, including motor boats and RIB's, all in excellent condition and well-maintained. To rent a boat from Shackle is simple, with online booking available and flexible rental periods to fit your schedule. Our knowledgeable staff is also available to provide guidance on which boat would be best for your needs and can offer safety and boating instructions.
Who is Shackle?
Shackle is our boat-mad Miniature Dachschund. She is always excited to get aboard a boat and make new friends on her adventures on the water.
Where can I go?
All our boats are coded to 60NM from a safe haven, allowing you to explore the Solent and further beyond. Why not book more than 1 day and explore further afield such as Dorset, Devon or Cornwall. Here are some ideas on where to go on your charter with Shackle's Ships.
Cowes, Isle of Wight
Just 30 minutes from our base in Hamble, perfect for a day trip or on your way back exploring the Solent.
Poole
A little further afield is Poole, approx. 90 minutes from Hamble. The large harbour has countless beaches to explore.
Salcombe
Why not explore to Devon and the wonderful Salcombe harbour and its picturesque scenery.

New Boats
All our boats are new or nearly new and kept by a professional team to a high standard. We only offer the best boats to charter at Shackle's Ships to explore the Solent and beyond.
Safety Equipment Included
The boats are prepared and provided with all the safety equipment you need for your trip. These include lifejackets, liferaft, flares and first aid kit.
Optional Skipper
To bareboat charter our boats, you need to hold RYA Powerboat Level 2 and have at least 2 years experience on a similar boat. If you don't have this we can provide a skipper for the day.
No hassle Bookings
All bookings are taken on our website and you only pay a 50% deposit with the balance due 4 weeks before your trip.
